The World Schools Debating Championships ("WSDC") wants visitors to this website to know that we are as concerned as you are about the privacy of any personal information that you may provide to us through this website ("Personal Information").

This privacy policy explains how we use the information we collect about you, how you can instruct us if you prefer to limit the use of that information and procedures that we have in place to safeguard your privacy.

Providing Personal Information on our Website

You are not required to provide any Personal Information on this web-site unless you choose to do so. Our web server will recognise your domain name, but not your e-mail address. We currently do not use any "cookie" technology on this web-site. If we add any cookies in the future, we will change this notice to explain how such cookies are used.

Personal Information may be submitted on our website in the alumni section. If you do provide your name in order to register on the alumni database, you may voluntarily provide additional information, such as your address, debating career, and other information etc

How may your information be used or disclosed

We propose to use, store and/or process ("Processing") the Personal Information provided by you for the purposes of: recording the history of the WSDC; enabling alumni to keep in touch with one another; and aiding the efforts of our alumni and fundraising teams ("Purposes").

We may also use aggregate information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring website usage in order to help us develop the website and our services and may provide such aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify any individual.

You may choose, at the point of registration or subsequently, whether or not to have your Personal Information (other than name, country, and the tournaments you attended -- which information is already in the public domain) published on the website. You may also choose whether or not to be contacted by our alumni and fundraising teams.

Untraced Alumni

Where a person has not placed any Personal Information on this website and has not been traced by WSDC, WSDC may put certain publicly available Personal Information about that person on the website (for example, their name, country and tournaments competed in). If you fall within this category and do not wish any Personal Information pertaining to you to be placed on the website, or you wish any Personal Information which has been placed on the website to be removed, please contact webmaster@schoolsdebate.com.

You may at any time access your Personal Information to verify it and/or make amendments by using your e-mail address and password. If you have forgotten your password, a facility will allow you to retrieve it. If your e-mail address has changed, please contact webmaster@schoolsdebate.com.

How we protect your information

The Internet is not a secure medium. However we have put in place various security procedures as set out in this policy. Information may not be altered other than by website administrators or using the password you have chosen. You may change your password at any time. It is not possible to download our database of alumni via this website and FTP access is available only to website administrators.
