Dear Participant

Please find attached, the official registration forms that will enable you to register for the World Schools Debating Championships 2001. Apologies for the delay in getting the forms to you - we were making sure that all banking details were finalised. Please also take note of the rules and charter attached.

As you will see there are 5 different types of form that need to be filled in:

Form 1: Team entry form

We need to receive from you one copy of this form with the details of every person from your country who will be attending the championships filled in. This means that the names and details of EVERY debater, coach, judge and observer attending the championships from your country should appear on this form.

• The Contact Person details that we have asked for should be the personal details of the person to whom all correspondence regarding the championships, details of fee payments etc. Should be sent.

• If the selection of the team is done by some kind of formal national debating organisation, please give its details as asked. If there is no formal national debating organisation, please cross out / draw a line through this part of the form.

• This form has space for the details of 9 participants - if your delegation is larger than this, please print 2 copies of this form and fill in the remaining details on the second form. NB please clearly indicate on both of these forms that you have sent us 2 copies.

Form 2: Individual entry form

You will need to print or photostat one copy of this form for every member of your delegation to fill in, be they debater, coach, judge or observer. We need to receive from you 1 copy of this form per member of your delegation. This means that if your team entry form gives the details of 9 participants, we need to receive from you 9 copies of the individual entry form.

• Special requirements - please make sure that these are filled in correctly. We especially need to know about special dietary requirements, and medical details in case of emergency.

• The forms of participants under the age of 21 must be co-signed by their legal guardian.

Form 3: Judges Application form

All participants who are attending the championships as judges must fill in this form in addition to their own individual entry forms. We need to receive from you one copy of this form per judge attending the championships.

Form 4: Finance Form

We need one copy of this form for each country. It must contain your calculation of the amount that you owe us as well as your method of payment. The form also contains all of our banking details. This form must be faxed to us together with your bank transfer or deposit slip.

Form 5: Young Leaders Summit Form

Each country is required to submit a form for this exciting new addition to the Championships. See the form for details and e-mail 2001summit@debating.org.za if you have any queries about the Young Leaders Summit.

Please send these entry forms as quickly as possible, noting that the final closing date by which time all forms must have been returned is: Friday December 8th, 2000
