1. PREPARED TOPICS
The moment you've all been waiting for.....
PRELIMINARY ROUNDS

"This House believes that affluent nations should accept more refugees"

"This House would waive patent rights for AIDS drugs for under-developed countries."

"This House believes that gay couples should be allowed to adopt children."

"This House would cancel third world debt"
GRAND FINAL

"This House believes that compensation should be paid for the injustices committed by previous generations."

These topics were set after much thought and deliberation by a specially selected international panel.

Sides (prop/opp) will be announced on Mon 11 Dec by e-mail for only those teams who have paid full entrance fees by Fri 8 Dec.

The draw (who is debating against who) will be released at the Championships themselves.
Just to remind the new countries getting this e-mail that these topics will be used for 4 of the 8 preliminary rounds and for the Grand Final. The other 4 preliminary rounds will be impromptu (1 hour to prepare) as will the Octo-finals, Quarter-finals and Semi-finals.
